Media Enterprises was established in 1984 by Bahamian journalist and
publicist Larry Smith, who spent a decade as a writer and editor
at the Bahamas News Bureau--the information arm of the Bahamas
Ministry of Tourism. He is a former reporter at the Nassau
Guardian, was a local correspondent for Reuters news agency, and
has written weekly columns for the Nassau Tribune and the Bahama
Journal. He has produced articles for the Caribbean Chronicle,
the Rome-based InterPress Service, the New York Journal of
Commerce, Sun International and numerous local publications. He
has an undergraduate degree in journalism and political science
from the University of Miami, Florida, and is a former director
of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce.
