The
Journal is an independent periodical featuring original research
and articles of scientific interest related to the Bahama Islands.
The Journal is published twice a year (May and November) in
Nassau, capital of the Bahamas, by Media Enterprises Limited, as a
non-profit contribution to education and research. Submissions are
welcome.

Media
Enterprises is a Bahamian-owned communications agency,
and the Bahamas' largest book publisher and distributor. Check

Subscriptions
The
magazine was established in 1993. Subscription is $35 a year for
Vol 8, plus $15 for overseas air mail delivery. Subscriptions are
processed upon receipt of Visa/MasterCard details, or US/Bahamian
currency cheque or money order payable to Media Enterprises Ltd,
P. O. Box N-9240, Nassau, Bahamas.
Submissions
Letters,
notices, reviews and original or reprinted articles are accepted
subject to peer review at the editor's discretion. Contributions
may include any material of scientific interest to the
Bahamas-from agriculture to zoology.
Submissions
are accepted subject to normal copyright and ethical
considerations, preferably as a typescript with a 3.5"
diskette identifying platform and software used, or as e-mail (nsealey@100jamz.com)
attachments. Authors are asked to provide submissions as a text
file, without extensive page layout or electronic formatting.
Illustrations
should be camera-ready, captioned, and large enough to withstand
reduction. All material will be acknowledged promptly, and
original artwork/photos returned to the author on publication.
Original photos are required. Scanned material and laser prints
cannot be used. Limited advertising space (free for non-commercial
purposes) is available for notices, publications, organizations
and institutions.
Editor
The
Bahamas Journal of Science is edited by Neil E. Sealey, author of
several text books on the Bahamas and Caribbean. A lecturer in
geography at the College of the Bahamas from 1979 until 1995 when
he joined Media Enterprises, he also edited a geographical journal
in the United Kingdom, and was an officer in the British Merchant
Marine prior to that. He was educated at Oxford and London and is
a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.
